Using resources

I have been wanting to make a few things, but money has been tight. So, I used what I had on hand to make some projects.

For my preschoolers I needed painting/craft aprons to protect their clothes. My mom gave me some bandanas this summer so I made these with some ribbon I had.
You know those rings you get on cupcakes that break right away? Well, I found a use for them.
I have been wanting to make the googly eye bow for a while. I think it is fun this time of year.

That is what I have been up to lately between my many other things. I forgot to take pictures of the lollipop super hero invites to YW in Excellence. I will try and find one so you can see the amazingness.

Upcycled shirt

About 1 1/2 years ago someone gave me some old clothes. Basically hand me downs for me. I selected a few that I liked and gave the rest to the DI. I loved a certain shirt, but it had an elastic bottom and just sat in my drawer. I was going to donate it, but thought it would make a cute dress for Mallory. Well, with careful coaching by an amazing seamstress look what I made. (I really wish I had taken a before picture.)
She is wearing my church shoes, too. It completes the ensemble.
This one is just because she is cute and was posing. I am not sure where she learned it, but she is saying, "cheese".

Being crafty

My first post! I have been sewing a lot lately. I am not sure why, but I have found it fulfilling in ways that I can't describe. This is what I did yesterday.

It is for one of my young women. Her birthday is on Sunday:
This one turned out more masculine that I wanted, so I realized it would be good for Marcus. I just closed it with velcro instead of a ribbon.
The inside. (It looks weird, but it is straight on top.)
This is what they are for.
Marcus (and now Anneke wants one) can put their Faith in God books, a journal and plain paper.

This is the first day of gifts for my secret sister. A pillow and pajama bottoms. (Snickers not pictured.)
3rd day of secret sister gifts. (The second day I didn't make anything.) Scripture case, 2 bean bags, journal, pens and gummy bears.
I am still working on the last day's gift. It is my favorite. I am worried that I put so much work into these and she won't like them. I guess that will be another post, huh?

This morning I refurbished a shirt (I was going to give it to the DI) into a dress for Mallory. My friend Mindy helped me. It was super fun! Not bad for a couple of hours and free. Pictures later. (Not any before shots, unfortunately. I forgot.)
